Music Education Services for Band Directors Who Want to Grow

From in-person clinics to virtual coaching, I’m here to help you and your program thrive, starting with a free consultation.

Whether you’re a first-year director finding your footing or a veteran looking to push your program to the next level, you don’t have to figure it out alone. With over 30 years of experience in music education, I offer a range of services designed to meet you exactly where you are, and help you get where you want to go. Explore what’s available below, and reach out anytime.

Program Design and Consultation

Running a band program means wearing a hundred hats, and program design shouldn’t slow you down. I’ll manage the design process from concept to completion, so you can stay focused on what matters most: teaching your students.

Whether you’re building a marching show from scratch or simply need a second set of eyes on your existing plan, I’ll be with you at every step to make sure the vision is clear, the logistics are manageable, and the result is something you’re proud of.

In-Person Clinics

Sometimes the most valuable thing you can have in a rehearsal is a trusted expert standing next to you. I’ll come to you, observing your marching band or concert band or winter ensembles in action and delivering honest, constructive, solutions-focused feedback in real time.

In-person visits can be tailored to whatever your program needs most:

  • Full rehearsal evaluations with detailed written and verbal feedback
  • Staff development clinics focused on pedagogy, communication, and technique
  • Student leadership sessions to build ownership, culture, and accountability within your ensemble

Available for single visits or ongoing partnerships throughout the season.

Performance Coach

Great performances do more than execute notes, counts, drill, and choreography. They communicate. They connect. They make the audience feel something.

As a Performance Coach for marching bands, drum corps, indoor ensembles, and concert bands, I help performers bring the show to life. My work focuses on the performer side of the activity: confidence, presence, expression, body language, musicality, emotional clarity, and communication.

A strong ensemble can play well and move well, but still feel flat. Performance coaching helps turn accurate execution into a memorable performance.

Video Clinics

Geography and budget shouldn’t stand between your program and the help it needs. Video clinics offer all the insight and expertise of an in-person visit, on a timeline and budget that works for you.

Whether you need a quick video session to address one specific challenge or a series of structured virtual check-ins throughout the season, we’ll get right to work on the issues that matter most. Video clinics are ideal for directors who need expert guidance fast, without the logistics of an on-site visit.

Offered via your preferred video platform. Recordings available upon request.

Ensemble Specialist

Modern marching and concert ensembles involve more moving pieces that can be challenging to manage. As your Ensemble Specialist, I take a bird’s-eye view of everything happening simultaneously (sound, visual design, spacing, timing, and execution) and help you build a plan to bring it all together.

This service is especially valuable for programs preparing for competitive circuits, where the margin between good and great often comes down to the details no one else is catching. I’ll work alongside your existing staff to analyze what’s working, identify what isn’t, and develop clear, actionable solutions to elevate the whole ensemble.

Director Mentorship

Being a band director is one of the most rewarding jobs in education, and one of the most demanding. The administrative load, the performance pressure, the student dynamics, the budget battles...it can feel like you're expected to figure it all out on your own. You don't have to.

Band Director Mentorship is a structured, ongoing partnership designed to support you at whatever stage of your career you're in. Whether you're navigating your first year in front of a program, stepping into a new school, or looking for a trusted voice as you continue to grow, I'll bring guidance that's practical, honest, and rooted in real experience.

Through regular one-on-one sessions, seasonal check-ins timed around your concert and marching calendar, and open lines of communication in between, we'll work through the challenges that matter most to you. Rehearsal technique, repertoire selection, program culture, administrator relationships, personal sustainability in a demanding profession. Nothing is off the table.

This isn't generic advice. It's a relationship built around your goals, your students, and your situation.

Adjudication

Every ensemble that steps onto a stage or field deserves feedback that’s honest, specific, and genuinely useful, not just a score. With adjudication experience at the state, national, and world levels, I bring a deep understanding of what judges look for and what directors need to hear.

My approach to adjudication is rooted in encouragement and growth. Every group, regardless of skill level, receives commentary that is detailed, positive, and solutions-oriented. Feedback they can actually take back to rehearsal and act on.

Looking for a qualified adjudicator for your festival or fall event? I’d love to be part of it.
